Terlihat Proses pelantikan gubernur dengan menerapkan protokol Kesehatan demi pencegahan Covid-19 , pelantikan inipun serentak dengan pelantikan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Kalimantan Utara Zainal Arifin Paliwang dan Yansen TP. pada pukul 09.00 WIB
Jokowi mengingatkan bahwa kiranya sebagai pemimpin yang baru harus memiliki semangat membangun yang baru demi membangun masa depan bangsa dan negara terutama daerah yang di pimpin. Sebab kita harus dapat bersaing dan bersinergi dengan Negara-negara lain dalam hal pembangunan, baik itu pembangunan Karakter bangsa dan pembangunan secara infrastruktur.
“Saya dan pak Steven akan mengawalnya agar semua proyek-proyek pembangunan di daerah nyiur melambai dapat di selesaikan sesuai perjanjian kontrak, dan juga kami akan melanjutkan program-program yang sudah kami buat diperiode sebelumnya untuk demi kemajuan daerah Sulawesi Utara” ungkap Olly.
Pelantikan kepala daerah ini secara resmi tertuang dalam Keputusan Presiden Nomor 19/p sampai 21/p 2021 tentang Pengesahan dan Pengangkatan Gubernur Wakil Gubernur Sulawesi Utara dengan masa jabatan 2021-2024.
Pelantikan itu dihadiri oleh undangan terbatas sekitar 20 orang termasuk Mentri Dalan Negeri, Tito Karnavian, Menteri Sekretaris Negara, Pratikno, Sekretaris Kabinet, Pramono Anung serta pejabat terkait lainnya.
